We parked at this trailhead (adequate parking space).
Beautiful hike. We took the Harkins Ridge trail out to Purisima Greek road entrance and then hiked the same trails back (~11km and took us ~3hrs). Going down felt easy but coming back up was a grind (technically considered moderate but felt harder at times).
Whittemore gulch trail is closed so you can't do a loop down at that part.
Next time will try to loop via Purisima trail to add to the experience.

The scenery is great and it's a nice place for hiking. The trails are well marked and it's very family-friendly. My two boys ages 2 and 4 we're able to go down and back up with relative ease.

This hike exceeded my expectations. The views were spectacular. Just know that this is a moderate to difficult level of hiking. Come prepared!! It was easy going downhill but heading uphill was a different story. Be ready for a challenging but rewarding hike.

Tens of free parking at the trailhead. Not crowded when I visited on a weekday morning. A clean restroom at the trailhead. The woods were awesome. Didn’t feel the 100+ heat at all. Many beautiful birds and wildflowers.

Beautiful but steep trail! Make sure you are ready for the hike back up because it feels like walking the stairclimber but at high altitude. Also, be prepared for the weather. It's about 10-15 degrees colder up in the mountains. Other than that, be safe and enjoy the views!
