Mount Diablo State Park

Absolutely beautiful place! You can drive all the way to the top and not much walking involved. I was there on a Monday and I was the only one there. Check weather before you go. Can be windy and cold at the top. Park entrance fee of $10. Windy narrow roads. Watch for bikes.

Mount Diablo State Park is located in Walnut Creek. The park is sprawling over the hillsides and is lush green.
There is an entry fee of $10 to enter the park and it is totally worth it. There are some parking lots along the way to the peak from where lots of beautiful trails start.
We visited the park multiple times in different seasons and every time it was a fun experience to hike on different trails. Once we even got to experience snow in December 2021.
The weather can be unpredictable so make sure you are dressed appropriately, especially as it can get windy near the peak.

Beautiful views. Windy curvy two lane paved road with sharp switchbacks. Watch for bikes anytime you travel here. $10 entrance fee, worth exploring multiple times. Tons of hiking trails, easy trails to more difficult terrain. Not a fast trip.. plan on spending some time traveling the road safely.

Mt. Diablo is a place that offers everyone The experience, and the opportunity to explore its most enjoyable locations there are over 20 camp grounds on site as to some of them comes with a spectacular view as to the rest are more secluded. When your someone who lives in the city where the civilization is, it becomes your reality everyday which is great that's how you want to live. All I'm saying is there's no happiness in that. So if your from the West Coast CA your freedom to explore Awaits you over the mountain ⛰ of Mt. Diablo $10 fee at the entrance gate and you have the whole entire mountain to yourself whole day!

Great place to hike in the bay. Signs posted at all intersections. Recommend the summit trail from Mitchell canyon visitor center. Very strenuous but fantastic views.
