Mount Diablo was a nice day trip for us from Santa Clara in March. There were few excursionists on the way, but a few cyclists for whom this beautiful driveway is suitable. So always go slowly. The parking spaces were sufficiently available. We were rewarded with a wonderful view from above, the view extends to the Golden Gate Bridge. Should one look at you.

Great spot to spend an afternoon. Remember to account for a long winding drive up and be prepared to yield to cyclists. (My utmost respect for the cyclists who pedal their way up!). The day was a bit hazy but no wind! We could see across the valley to the Sierras. Looking west can see the Golden Gate bridge. To the south, Lick observatory. Visitor center was interesting and very worthwhile. Great place to get a perspective for the entire Bay Area. Remember to bring binoculars.

Mt Diablo Park is incredible. The park has an abundance of picnic areas and campgrounds. Also a visitor center at the top and the views are stunning. Drive very carefully because there are a lot of bike riders. But well worth the visit.

If you live in the Bay Area and you haven't made it to the summit -- what are you waiting for?! We have this jewel just waiting for you and yours. Waste no time, pack well and explore the natural wonders of our ecologically unique area! For visitors remember to leave no trace! Give a hoot and don't pollute! To that end please enjoy the Museum as it provides a holistic experience for young folks and even adults alike.

We love it but it was so cold at 4000ft.

Discover them for yourself, from the mountain's 3,849-foot summit to its beautiful wildflowers, extensive trail system, fascinating wildlife, and distinctive rock formations.
