(April 26, 2017, 6:00 pm)Plenty of well-lit parking and a reasonable amount of traffic going past and condos/apartments looking directly on it makes this feel like a safe place to park. I've never seen any broken-into cars in this lot and I have sometimes seen police cars patrolling through the lot or along SW Expressway. It is at street level, so no worries about stairs, escalators or elevators (and people who may or may not live in the elevators).
It is close to the Los Gatos Creek Trail which may let you avoid some street traffic if you're walking or biking. Not much shelter from rain and like most of the VTA stations, there is no up-to-date info about train arrivals or delays.
