Our favorite Indian place in our neighborhood and all of SF probably. We order and dine in here regularly. Absolutely love the chicken chettinad, chicken tikka masala, and puri chaat! Get the bread basket!

Really flavourful food, friendly staff, they ask how spicy you like to have your food. Will definitely come back! :-)

I love tilak!!! They’re so well priced for a place in SF and the food is way better than most. It’s low on decor / ok on service so maybe not a “lemme take you out and show you a good night” kinda place but definitely the best Indian place for a down to earth meal. Try their fluffy fried white bread in addition to the naan! Entrees I love chicken tikka masala and the eggplant dish!

I saw the 4.5 stars and balked a bit. Bernal grade inflation? Probably. Newcomer buzz? Probably.

But was I wrong, or rather the 4 star people were wrong. This place is off the chain, 5+ stars easy.

Let me get your order correct right quick: Butter Chicken - unbelievable

Saag Paneer - you never had one like this Chicken Biryani - tastes homestyle AF Deconstructed samosas - taste as good as they look (and they look amazing)

And their wine by the glass vs wine by the bottle pricing is adorable. Get the wine by the bottle, you'll see what mean.

Service was great. They enjoy what they do here.

Came here on a Friday evening around 6 pm and was seated right away. We were promptly greeted and seated and asked whether we wanted ice in our water.

We ordered the following: Aloo Tikka Chaat Bites, Gobi Mussalam, Chicken Tikka Masala, along with Lemon Rice, Bhature, and Garlic Naan.

The stand outs for me were the Bhature - best to eat while still hot. It was so airy and delicious. I used it like a pocket to eat with the items we ordered. Their chicken tikka masala was very creamy and flavorful but not too salty. You can pick from four levels of spiciness. We picked level 2 which was not spicy at all for me. But I can handle some spice.

I don’t think I would order the lemon rice again. The naan had the perfect amount of garlic. Next time I will just stick to the naan and Bhature.

We had plenty of leftovers as there were only two people in our party. Parking wasn’t too bad because we came on the earlier side. There was a steady flow of patrons and some purchasing take out but it never got crowded. Staff were all wearing masks.

Would definitely revisit this neighborhood restaurant.
