Throughout the course of her prestigious career Dr. Bader has managed to counterbalance her relentless drive to deliver outstanding cutting edge training to therapists to further social change with a steadfast emphasis on giving back, self care and experiencing a life of adventure. Her profound balancing act is at the root of The Couples Institute, which she and her husband Dr. Peter Pearson founded in the 1980s.

Over the years I have learned a tremendous amount from attending their training workshops and getting regular consultations from Ellyn. Thanks Ellyn and Pete for the exceptional teaching and for providing so many with the amazing gift of learning and expanding their knowledge, skills and self confidence. Your developmental model of change has been an enormous contribution along with your exceptional books "Tell Me No Lies" and "In Quest of the Mythical Mate." You have changed my life and enhanced my skills in ways I never dreamed possible.

I've been training with the CI for nearly a decade now. I have been in Ellyn & Pete's Mentoring program for the past 3 years. I have become an exceptional couples therapist as a result of their outstanding leadership, their wisdom and compassion. They walk the walk in their own lives and become powerful vehicles for helping the rest of us do the same.
