Did not actually attend appointment as insurance wasn't covered but they were absolutely wonderful and helpful over the phone. I was trying to find an care for a scratched eye and Dr Folkers was very informative on how to handle my issue. He gave me a solution to help that day and offered to see me as soon as he could.

Because of insurance differences I will not be going to his office but I recommend anyone available to do so.

Super friendly, a lot more tools than other places I’ve been. Listened to what I had to say and checked things accordingly.

Honestly one of the friendliest doctors I have ever talked to. Seemed super knowledgable about everything eye related (though I guess I am not the best judge of that since I’m not an eye doctor myself).

I saw a review of how the doctor yelled at a person before I came in but I chose to come in anyways since the office was close. Having been there, I honestly cannot imagine this doctor ever yelling at someone over the phone. Would recommend 100%.

Just a single suggestion, make sure the patient knows the results of the exam. What was good, what wasn’t etc. before moving on. This wasn’t a huge deal, but it would be nice to know what you actually checked, how the results compare to the average joe, etc. I think the doctor did a good job of educating me in general, so this is slightly nitpicky, but I thought I would mention it anyways.

Positives:
Excellent service. The Doctor spent a lot of time with me to determine the best fit for my prescription, and I was able to choose frames that ended up being something I like. I'm picky, too.

At my original appointment, the doctor provided in-depth details of my eyes, my nose bridge that I never would have noticed, leaving me more informed.

I came to get my glasses, unannounced, and they were able to carve out some time to give me the glasses.

Negatives:
Glasses took a month to come in, and were estimated at 2 weeks (an anomaly).

When picking up the glasses, There was an unexpected charge of $99.20 in the end for some unforeseen charges not covered by my (good) insurance, so I ended up paying out-of-pocket for that.

Summary:

5 stars still, because of the enthusiasm, dedication to the job, constantly feeding you information about your eyes, and professionalism of the doctor and his assistant.

Note: I see someone on here with a review about yelling, and I could never imagine this guy in that kind of situation. I mean, very passionate about his job, and is very direct about the state of your eyes (as you'd want in this scenario), but definitely never came off as rude once to me.
