I purchased a 91 Bmw 750il that was in limp mode back in July 2021. My previous mechanic that would work on my E38 was honest enough to tell me he had never worked on an M70 engine and he didn't feel comfortable working on it. Now I was a little nervous on finding someone to work on my e32 since there aren't a lot of mechanics that work on these type of engines. I found Roundel Autoworks and spoke to Joe. He made me feel good leaving my car with him and he found and solve the problem very quick. Now I'll be taking both my e32 and e38 for service when needed to Joe. Great guy and a great auto shop

Outstanding work! We had extensive work done after purchasing our Mini Cooper. Joe went above & beyond in repairing it, explaining what was needed, answering all my questions & even took pictures of the cam shaft sensor that was faulty so we could have it fixed under the warranty from a previous mechanic. Very honest, dependable & I highly recommend him to any BMW & Mini owner.

My Mini Cooper had a check engine light / solenoid valve issue that was diagnosed by three repair shops. One European auto repair shop told me they don’t have a manual to fix this, and the other two (Mini authorized) said the problem is 50/50 and will require a total transmission replacement that would cost more than the value of the vehicle. So, I did my research and came across Joe at Roundel Auto Works in Benicia, CA. Truly, I am very glad that I found him. Setting up the appointment and communicating with Joe was very easy via e-mail, phone call or text. His shop location is spacious and the cleanest work area I’ve ever seen! But the best part is, you will be working directly with Joe who will answer your questions and personally fix your vehicle unlike manufacturer service shops where you don’t get to meet the mechanic. Joe was very honest and only repaired what was necessary. He even showed me the parts he replaced and explained why the issues happened. As soon as I drove my Cooper out of his shop, I immediately noticed the difference – my Mini was running smoother and shifting has improved. I highly recommend Roundel Auto Works if you own a Mini or BMW that needs attention. Thank you Joe! We need more honest mechanics like you.

Joe is a very genuine guy, and is great at explaining any sort of issue. I've been to various BMW shops from Sacramento to San Jose, and Joe has been the best at communicating issues and timelines. I also appreciate Joe's racing experience, as my e34 is a dual purpose street/track car, and not all shops are mod friendly. When a part is NLA, he was great at explaining what the issue was, and the workaround he used to fix it. I would definitely call Joe again if/when needed. Quality work.

Talented mechanic, well trained and certified. Polite and Proficient! It's great to have an alternative to dealership service for those of us outside of factory warranty. AND for you guys cruising around in newer models, he told me he does not do any work that would void your warranty. Works Tuesday-Saturdays. Cool!
