Petaluma Municipal Airport

Lots of activity while maintaining a small friendly place. The restaurant is closed There is seating on the porch in the shade where you can watch the runway. A nice walking path starts near the parking lot. There’s plenty of parking. On the first Saturday of each month they have an open house called airport day aircraft are parked in an area open to the public allowing a great opportunity to visit the airport and the unique and beautiful aircraft.

Open 8:00 am to 5:00 pm year round. Main office building with picnic tables out front...you can watch the aircraft take off and land. Aircraft display day open to the public every 3rd week of the month.

I visited this place because they had aircraft exhibition, l like it to be very close to the aircrafts an Learn about its history was not able to visit the main airport, this is an airport for small planes.

Had a GREAT time at Cierva Autogyro. I went on a "discovery flight" in an open cockpit MTO Gryocopter or more correctly a Gyroplane. It was really fun experience. Mike the pilot (see photo) was very friendly & answered all my questions. The Gyroplane was so stable and nimble as Mike demonstrated the basics of what it could do. The view from 1000 ft of the surrounding area was amazing and I loved the feeling of the open cockpit. I recommend this "discovery flight" to everyone BUT u must have reasonable mobility as climbing into the tandem seating requires some effort.

Never been there personally, I usually sit in my car and watch from the residential area. Did not know that it was open to the public to get a closer view of the aircraft and their take off and landings. Would love to go one evening with my lady and get a closer view.
