John is the real deal, he really knows his wood and the right stain to bring out its natural beauty. We are finishing a whole house remodel and hired John to stain our unfinished doors, windows, and exposed beams. He knew just what to use to make them look fantastic and gently guided us towards wise color choices. His team was courteous, professional, clean, and overall top notch. I can’t recommend them more highly.

> Some years ago we were remodeling our home. Our house had painted wood cathedral ceilings. We had all the ceilings in the house sand blasted to remove the paint and bring out natural beauty of the old growth Douglas Fir beams and decking. After doing this we found some problems with the ceiling in the kitchen. Some areas had unpainted ceiling wood which had absorbed oils and smoke from years of cooking and had discolored relative to the clean sand blasted wood. The problem area was in an obvious focal area of the house so we had to find a solution. We literally talked to at least 7 painters, restorers and refinishing specialists. Universally we got the response of "Man, you are crazy! There is nothing we can do to fix that one!". The only guy willing to take a shot at it wanted a large retainer just to start with no guarantees and making it clear it would probably be much more expensive. He never even came out to look at the job.
> Finally we found John. He actually came out. He got the concept, thought about it for a minute and said "I think we can fix this". His confidence was both inspiring and relieving. He asked if we had some samples of the sand blasted wood for him to work with, which I did. I thought he would take them back to his shop to work with but instead he took out pigments and a clear lacquer and on the spot mixed up some color by eye. This was impressive. I have worked with a few good painters but it is rare to find someone who has the experience and ability to mix color on the spot. He then applied his mixed color to the sample wood and compared that to the ceiling. He made some adjustments and came up with a very good match. The actual fix required him to bleach the wood in the problem area and then paint the true color back into the effected area. He tinted the lacquer in such a way where it does not look tinted, it looks natural. The result was excellent and done in a timely fashion. The cost was very reasonable and considerably cheaper than anyone else. We really enjoyed working with John on this. He turned an eyesore into a success. It still looks great years later.
We have continued to work with John over the years on a number of projects. He has a great eye for color and style as well as he is a joy to work with. We have regularly recommended John to friends for their projects. Especially in situations where there are problem areas or assistance is needed in picking colors. He does great color consultations.

Our kitchen cabinets had been in 15 years and they looked it! John promptly assessed the work and we agreed with the work to be done. His team was on time, courteous and neat. Some of the work went to the paint shop and some done on site. The work was perfect. John was great to work with, as were his painters, Jose, Byron and Issac. They cleaned up everyday and worked hard. We would use John anytime and would highly recommend him to all.

John did an incredible job painting my office! I let him pick the color. I would never let anyone pick the color, but John knows what the current, most popular colors are. Everybody loved the color and the quality of his work. He is such a nice man! He loves to make you laugh. He is trustworthy, incredibly knowledgeable and fun to be around.
