Mount Tamalpais State Park

Beautiful views on a clear day. Worth the drive up. Great hikes up from lower parking lots if you want more if a challenge. We parked at Trojan Point and had a fun 4 mile hike up and 4 mile hike back.

Great views all along.

Stunning hikes through dense forests, along dry hillsides and over brushy trails. They are small creeks (this was summer, so they are probably bigger during the wetter months). There are literally so.many. stairs. Steep stairs. Just be warned. While this is a gorgeous park there are a lot of other people as well so if you are looking for solitude, you won't find it here. All in all though it was a gorgeous forest and the weather made for a wonderful day. Parking can be a bit a busy so you may have to park where you can find a spot and walk to the trail entrance. Definitely recommend for the more experienced hiker!

It is great to be back on park life. This is a great park. Pathways are well maintained, and the Rangers were enthusiastically amazing. The banana slugs are hard to find. Parking needs to be planed, so reserve with time. There is low WiFi reception, but you could reserve the parking online almost at the last minute if there is availability. It is worth the visit.

My favorite North Cal state park so far. Many different hiking trails with gorgeous views. A spontaneous and mysterious adventure every time. It started raining while I was hiking halfway through the rainforest, and the fog suddenly appeared causing a magical scenery.

My room mates and I went on our very first hike together!!! Two of them are pretty skilled at their hiking ability, the rest of us…well, we went for fun;) but it was such an amazing time. So wholesome, the weather and atmosphere was amazing. The park is so well kept, with good maps and directions. We were so happy to cross this one off our list, and after doing this hike we decided that we want to go on more together:)
