Many years ago, I met Dr Ueno’s wife when I was teaching sw courses in Almaden Valley. I had two new kitties then, and she told me about her husband, Dr Stan Ueno here at Kirkwood! I was confident then to take them here- now fast forward it’s 2014 or so, I adopted 2 new kitties and brought them to Kirkwood! .. great care! .. fast forward it’s 2023-now I’m living in another county and found a local vet to try out- get them both fresh exams and vaccines updated but was surprised by their expensive quote range for teeth cleaning, also the gal who answered questions on the quote said, “depends on how many extractions”??.. huh? .. so I called my trusted Kirkwood, and I was able to get an appt with Dr Ueno !! I got there early the following week, and they ended up checking first that morning- full exam and teeth cleaning- Dr Ueno called me to report my cat is “very healthy” and all went great- and zero extractions needed- he asked if I’d like to get his blood work to check for heart worm, I said Yes please! He did and cut his nails too as I’d asked! I picked him up, he was groggy but happy.. granted the drive home was stressful .. my cat has never been “under” so he felt more unsure about the drive back.. Dr Ueno called again later in afternoon💓 - I cannot say enough about my Love for Dr Stan Ueno and his whole Kirkwood staff! Starting with Jan - she knows her stuff, gave me the straight scoop upfront- this is huge in a valley known for change! I am SO grateful to know this solid Expert, seasoned veterinarian care Team I can bring my two cats to- this is a pet loving place- and their price less than 1/2 of the quoted range of place near my house.. they say it’s because they want to ensure people can take care of their pets!! First Class!! 10 Stars out of 10!! God Bless Dr Ueno & Jan, and all the Love they give to their community of pets!! And even mine from a county way!!

We have been bringing our pets to Kirkwood for years and in particular, to seee Dr. Ueno. He is very knowledgable and kind. The other vets are extremely good so we know if Dr. Ueno is not available, we are in great hands. The office staff are very supportive and compassionate. love your pets? Take them to Kirkwood for care.

Dr Ueno is amazing! He has taken care of my family’s pets for the last 20+ years. Our dog even had a surgery for her legs that was successful. Most of the staff and reception is very nice. The only reason for 4 stars is that when our dog passed away one of the people we talked to when we arrived outside was super short and rude on the phone. She kept asking me the same questions over and over since she didn’t like my response I guess or didn’t understand what I was saying. I’m still baffled by her behavior as we were morning our dog’s passing and she was so insensitive. Overall everyone else is very kind and your pet will be in good hands with all of the lovely doctors there.

I can't say enough good things about this vet. Prices are very reasonable compared to other vets, and the level of care is top notch. Sadly, my kitty had to be put down, but they were very compassionate, explained everything, and did not do unnecessary testing or treatments.

We recently took in a friendly 2 yr. old stray and I had a surprisingly hard time finding a place that offered affordable spay/neuter. Literally a dozen calls. Some never returned message. Some were charging $600+ for spay alone. And many had programs pre-pandemic that they haven't started up again. Anyway, eventually I got a recommendation for Kirkwood and they were fantastic every step of the way - communication, appointment, and price was reasonable. Our vet was Dr. Hu and she was great. Highly recommended.
