I highly recommend Sue. She’s been my instructor for my Private License, Instrument Rating, and now for my Commercial. She really challenges her students and doesn’t just teach you to pass a checkride. Other instructors I have flown with have always mentioned how masterfully I have been taught. She has super high standards and has a well thought out style of teaching. She is full of experience and knowledge, with lessons full of real-life examples and creative ways to get the concept she is trying to teach across. I have enjoyed having her as an instructor and feel confident in my abilities as a pilot because of her.

Simply put, Sue is great. Other reviewers have remarked on her experience and expertise, so I won't repeat that here. What I will comment on is that Sue finds multiple ways to teach the knowledge and skills required to get that coveted pilot license. She gets to know you, the student, in a way that allows her to connect the dots between a skill or technique you're not familiar with and one you are familiar with. In my particular case, she drew frequent analogies to skiing - for example, staying ahead of the aircraft in a similar way to how I anticipate turns on a mogul field.

The ability to convey information and impart skills in different ways unique to the individual student makes an instructor really stand out. Everyone I met on my journey to the proud holder of a private pilot license knew and greatly respected Sue. That speaks volumes.

I recently completed my PPL training with Sue. I struggled to find an instructor with the skills I wanted and the flexibility to meet my schedule, but eventually I found Sue and couldn't be happier.

My training adventure began a year and a half ago. I would have completed training and the check ride sooner if it wasn't for my numerous trip interruptions. I also had some learning challenges due to my decades as a career engineer. As Sue once pointed out to me, "if you want to learn about yourself, go learn to fly". Well, I definitely learned about my weaknesses and strengths as they relate to learning to fly. Sue provided focused lessons to overcome my weaknesses and reinforce my strengths, always with an eye toward safety. You will go well prepared for your check ride--Sue wouldn't have it any other way.
