(April 3, 2023, 1:20 pm)Steepest trail in the East Bay, definitely challenging. I do a 6 mile loop that connects with the Strawberry Canyon Trail & circles back to Clairmont Canyon. The views are some of the best in the Bay & the wild flowers are in full bloom.

(February 14, 2023, 12:14 am)I enjoyed the hike including some flat parts that even toddlers could come along and the second half was steep but not too much. I went with regular sneakers but while coming down be a bit careful if you're not wearing hiking sneakers. The view is amazing 😀

(February 27, 2022, 11:23 am)Very beautiful hike. Is amazing what all is just above campus of UC Berkeley. Good for dogs too but is a fairly popular hike due to close proximity - so a good sprinkling of people around. Great views also.

(November 21, 2021, 4:01 am)I love watching the sunset from here, it's amazing. During the day it's excellent to hike for the views alone. I highly recommend visiting at least once and taking a good camera. Lots of incredible views and trails. The trails have numerous steep parts, so bring water and good trail shoes.

(July 23, 2021, 9:36 pm)Gorgeous view of the city and the bay from the preserve! The best view points are close to different trail heads around Berkeley, the Berkeley Overlook Vista Point and a place marked as Pano. However, those segments of the trail are also the steepest so definitely be prepared for some strenuous climb.
The trail east of Panoramic Way is significantly quieter with much less foot traffic but also you are getting away from the best views and getting into the woods.
