Byrne Preserve

An exposed grassy field where you can see grazing horses. Not much of hiking though.

Byrne Preserve is a hidden gem tucked away in the rolling hills near foothill nature preserve. The natural beauty of the area is awe-inspiring, with oak trees and wildflowers dotting the landscape. During our visit, we were lucky enough to see horses grazing in the grassy fields, which only added to the tranquil ambiance of the preserve. We also saw poppies and wild lilies were in full bloom along the hiking trails. Most importantly, it’s totally FREE.

Overall, Byrne Preserve is a must-visit destination for nature enthusiasts and anyone looking to escape the hustle and bustle of city life. The preserve is well-maintained, and the trails are easy to navigate, making it a perfect place for a leisurely walk or hike. We highly recommend a visit to Byrne Preserve, and best time to visit is winter to spring when the grass is so Green!

Beautiful place for family outdoors. Green hills, happy horses, stunning landscape. Easy and basic trails, very kid and dog friendly. Plenty parking.

Very pretty drive to get to the preserve. Once there you can find parking easily. I walked around the stables and saw the beautiful horses. Horse riding classes were on going. If you love animals you can get up close to see them. I would not touch them even one appeared to be very friendly (see pic). As far as the trail, you can walk past the stables and get to the trail. The trail is not that long. You get a chance to walk by the open area where there a few horses roaming around. Nice pics of the city. Very relaxing walk. Bring the kids if they like animals. Have fun and enjoy.

There was a stables here but we didn't go in we just sent on a short hike. Totally suitable for kids. My son loved the proximity to the horses who were all super tame. It's a lovely place for a walk and explore.
