The whole area to me is know as the duck pond, anyways great views of the bay lots of family on the trails and lots of ppl with dogs as well, this time of year its muddy so be careful of that. Very cold and windy as always, trails connected to east palo alto and one goes to Dumbarton bridge, thanks for taking the time to read my short review 😎
Bylands Nature Preserve is a beautiful and serene oasis in the heart of Palo Alto. The park is home to a variety of wildlife, including birds, squirrels, and rabbits, and offers visitors a chance to escape the hustle and bustle of life and enjoy the peace and tranquility of nature.
The preserve is situated on a hillside, offering panoramic views of the surrounding area. There are several trails that wind through the park, providing visitors with the opportunity to explore the diverse landscape, including meadows, woodlands, and wetlands. The trails are well-maintained and marked, making it easy for visitors of all ages and abilities to enjoy the park.
In addition to the natural beauty, it also offers several amenities for visitors. There are picnic areas and benches scattered throughout the park, allowing visitors to relax and take in the views. There are also several educational signs and displays, providing information about the park's history and the wildlife that call it home.
Whether you're looking for a peaceful hike, a picnic with friends, or an educational outing, Bylands Nature Preserve is an excellent destination.
A great place to walk around aimlessly, cycling is definitely a better choice than scootering. Will definitely visit again. Many parking spots available, but I saw many people parked near the main road turning into the preserve, I am not sure why.
This is the park but the Palo Alto airport. You can walk from there to the Bryxbee park and much further east by the bay. Also, you can walk around the park which is not that huge but good for easy walking. Good shorebird habitat and peaceful place sans the noise from the airplanes. Nice view of the bay from here and evening is better.
