The little boat that could!
Angel Island is a huge magical space in the center of San Francisco Bay with so much history.
You can swim over the straits or sale into the cove but it's easier to take the little ferry boat over and enjoy the park there.
There is camping and hiking and picnicking and it's very scenic.
Take the very efficient ferry and explore the island.
Enjoy!

Loved my trip here! We took the 11:00am ferry and hung out for an hour after we went to the top of the island. We took the 3:20 ferry. Also, 11:00am ferry does not leave exactly at 11:00am. The people running the ferry seem nice.
Will need to go again and explore the area next to the ferry in Tiburon, super cute! And it’s beautiful too!

Pretty Tiburon & nice ferry ride to Angel island! Need to purchase ticket on line first. West mask, no drink, no food on ferry. No exceptions!

Great place for a day trip/ vacation. We went on a fairly cool day so the climb up to the top was much more pleasant. The ferry ride also abides by social distancing protocols which is a huge bonus. Travel here for a great exercise and splendid views.
