Wunderlich County Park

This was my first encounter with a San Mateo County park. My assessment is that this one is just as good as any Santa Clara County parks. There is plenty of free parking and fairly clean restrooms. There is also a nice museum, funded by the Folgers family (of Folgers Coffee fame), attached to the Lower Wunderlich parking lot. You can get free coffee and cookies here! The Alambique Trail is quite nice, not very steep but very wooded. Overall 5 stars!!

Some nice mild hiking in this area. The trails are as wide as a fire road but still manage to feel like a trail. There is a granule climb and decline and never anything too steep. Would definitely come again.

Great hiking horse park with several trails circling the mountains. There are benches for resting after several miles of hiking. The trails are easy to navigate and there is a horse museum for viewing. The parking is limited is the only negative or else it would have been 5 star. It is not dog friendly

Amazing hiking trails amidst redwood trees with some views of the Bay Area. There are signs scattered along the trails with information on the wildlife, history, and descriptions of the skyline (such as Stanford). Parking is limited on weekends and holidays — tickets were getting given to people parked along the dirt/equestrian trailer parking in the lower lot, so best to stick to only market spots.

One of our latest and greatest fines in the south bay area. This is a great place to hike in the shade, and see beautiful horses passing you by. It was such a wonderful place to explore and I’d love to go back again soon. It’s also very quiet and quaint and there was lots of parking on a weekday.
