Viks Chaat

Been coming to Viks for years, and this is the first time I didn't see anyone outside and I didn't realize they now opened up the indoor seating. It was surreal to see no one outside in the picnic tables. We still spent time outside to hear that Amtrak trains go by, which is my son's favorite thing. I feel Viks is pretty decent for Indian, but will always make the drive to Sunnyvale for the the good stuff.

The menu and lineup is intimidating when you step into Viks, but the food is delicious and the staff is so friendly. We asked about several things on the menu and they patiently answered. After ordering the samosa cholle, chicken kathi kebab, and koliwada fish, we waited in a room where a line of cooks and callers would pump out dishes (this took 15 minutes). We grabbed our to go bag and headed out to the parking lot in the back, where they have 2 covered seating areas with picnic tables that could see at least 12 groups. A great location, great food, and plenty of parking.

even though the place was in Berkley I thought to give it a try. After reading some good and bad reviews I feel I needed to see what is good there.

The place had a nice backyard where people can sit and eat their food. It is like a grocery store with a food corner.

I was not that hungry so I just wanted to taste one thing from this place and chole bhature was something everyone said was really good here.

I have never had a decent chole bhature since I have been here in the US  so I didn't have high hopes for this place either.

The place was rather clean and spacious. They have a token system where you pay and then your name is called for the food.

I was seeing how the bhatura was made and it reminded me of how it is made in India . when my order was ready they called my name and I could see the bhatura all puffed up .it got me excited.

honestly, this was the most delicious chole bhature i have ever had.

price wise I would say it was a bit pricey considering you get one big bhatura .

Overall I really enjoyed the food.

Viks Chaat is a good place to go to try some not common Indian food.
Plenty of vegetarian options. It'd ne nice if they had more pictures or ingredients in their menu for those of us who are not very familiar with the names.
Warehouse-like environment with indoor and outdoor sitting. Portions are pretty decent.

If you are looking for a great Indian food, this is THE place. You have to download the app and order it which is really annoying for me because I am old and I don't like to have to download apps constantly to be able to order food from each restaurant. (You do this a lot in the bay area. Not many places left that you can order food from a real person.) While you are waiting for your food, you can shop at their giant grocery. There are tons and tons of spices, and good quality products. Food is delicious. Right now there are about 30 seats outdoor. The dining seats are still closed after Covid.
