Choosing Paula and The Midwives was the best thing I have done for myself and my baby throughout my journey to motherhood.

My care was supportive, kind, loving, knowledgeable, reassuring, personal, and professional.

Each of my appointments throughout my pregnancy lasted as long as they needed to. All my questions and concerns answered and expanded upon.

Pregnancy and birth are outrageously vulnerable times and the people you hire to help you throughout it can make a huge impact. My care team had absolute faith in me my whole pregnancy. By the time I went into labor I had no doubts that Paula and her team would support me through a healthy and safe labor.

I delivered my beautiful son at the birth center in Napa unmedicated and completely undisturbed. I utilized their enormous birthing tub and had the birth of my dreams.
All through the birth center I was able to encapsulate my placenta to help with postpartum healing. They made getting a birth certificate so easy. The postpartum care was amazing. I honestly feel like I can reach out to the team any time.

I would absolutely recommend this path to any women.
Not so long ago, women gave birth with the help and wisdom of other women in their community who had gone through it countless times and seen it done countless times- this is the experience you will have if you chose to have your baby with Paula and the Midwives.

You will be led through your pregnancy and birth by women who believe in your biological ability to do it.

I was in care of paula from week 10 until my son was 1 month plus , i had the best care it would not have been possible in hospital setting. I wished for all natural birthing without any intervention. And I am very lucky I found Paula without her it would not have been possible.in 45 min to an hour long visits she would answer all my questions patiently. She guided me throughout pregnancy at every phase. This was my first pregnancy, She exactly knows how a new mother feels, all that fear and doubts. She will give 100 percent undivided attention during visits. Which I feel is very improtant , for mother to be prepared. My son was born in May 2021 at home, paula and her team gave best care. It was the most beautiful experience. Look no further this is best care a new mother can get in today's modern times. I will prefer to go back to Paula in future as well.

As third generation healthcare professional, I'm admittedly picky when it comes to my family's healthcare. For my most recent pregnancy I wanted a provider with a personalized, holistic approach while also offering well informed and evidence based practices. Paula fit that description.

Paula and her team went above and beyond to help us have the best birth experience we could have. She was able to answer our questions with evidence based information and was respectful of our wishes. She took extra time when needed and never made us feel rushed or bothersome. She is also connected with a fantastic network of professionals such as acupuncturists and birthing class teachers.

Words cannot express our gratitude for the level of compassionate care we received throughout the experience from pregnancy to post natal care. I would recommend Paula to anyone looking for a positive birth experience.

Paula delivered our first child, fulfilling my wife’s dream to have a home birth. We were so fortunate to have someone so experienced attending to us. Paula has been a midwife for over 20 years and has delivered over 1,500 babies. Not only is she a midwife, but she is also an instructor and has trained other working midwives in the area. Paula is a very warm and genuine person, our appointments with her were much more personal and intimate than a visit to an OB or midwife nurse at a hospital or clinic. She was very attentive to all our questions and concerns, even answering us by text and phone anytime day or night. Communicating with her while my wife was in labor was easy to do, she was able to guide me through the progress of her labor and comforted us through the process; she helped set up the birthing tub and within and hour of stepping in I was able to catch my daughter! After our daughter’s birth, Paula provided neonatal care for the first 6 weeks, coming to our home for the first 2 checkups. A major convenience for any new parent!

Working with Paula and her team was an incredible experience for our family. In addition to the fantastic medical care, Paula provided emotional support, informational support, and on demand reassurance whenever needed (literally 24/7!). It being our first child we had so many questions and experienced the ups and downs of the emotional rollercoaster that is pregnancy! Paula was there with us it through it all and beyond making me feel comfortable, also made my husband feel quite comfortable and safe. When I did have a problem during my pregnancy (it was really a case of mama paranoia!), she was there for us at the drop of a hat and informed us all of our choices, including outside care. Paula even threw me a Blessingway before the birth of my child that remains one of my most precious memories!

Our home birth was life changing. I can't imagine doing it any other way! I felt so cared for and supported throughout my (very long) labor and the feminine energy is a large part of what got me through the pain and difficulty of labor. Looking back, I only have positive memories on what was a beautiful and empowering experience.

It was my first child and I rarely felt a glimmer of doubt throughout my pregnancy or birth. It wasn't that Paula harped on "natural" or medication free birth, it was her approach to birth as being a completely normal human experience, not a medical procedure. I'm so grateful I was never treated as patient, but as a person, and that I was able to experience pregnancy and birth free of fear and with love, confidence, and positivity.

I know Paula was the reason for our memorable experience. She is still a dear friend and our child was born nearly 2.5 years ago. We've moved across the country yet I still consider her a significant part of our lives.
