Pretty neat a facility that could literally change the face of energy is in our backyard.

Fond memories of an awesome place that is pretty much like its own City, and has its own Fire Department. I worked there as contracted Security with American Protective Services from 1982 through 1984, at a Time when Wolfgang Panosky was the center Director, Lee Hobbs was our American Protective Services Supervisor, and James Hamm was the SLAC Security Manager. Fond memories of Sector 30, the Klystron Gallery, Spear, Gate 17, the various locations of vending machines throughout the property, and being so very close to The Dutch Goose. Funny in ALL these years that the Ext is STILL the same for the Main Gate, Ext 2551. Can't remember if the strike was during the gallery shutdown, but remember getting to drive golf carts throughout the 2-mile length of the accelerator. A bit of fun, the 1985 song, Digital Display, watch it sometime. If you've ever been in the accelerator you will immediately see familiar views inside the accelerator in the music video.

A great high brilliance spot! The staff are friendly, the X-ray servings are generous and the liquid nitrogen refills are free. I like the way they arranged oxygen deficiency monitors on the walls to ensure a great atmosphere. "The ring" is a popular place any night of the week so you'll need to book reservations months in advance.

Stayed at the Stanford Guesthouse. Small room nice accommodation.
