San Francisco Zoo

Wow!!! Such an interesting and inviting place. Happy, healthy critters. Enchanting exhibits and pathways made to beckon you to explore. Critter habitats were very nice and the inmates seemed happy in them. Interesting placards about each exhibit and the diversity of wildlife is awesome. Really enjoyed visiting the SF Zoo !!!

Great place to spend the day with the family. Bring your walking shoes as there is so much to explore. I would go on a warmer day because a lot of the animals were in hiding on the chilly day we went. The restaurant had the best food we have had at any zoo we have visited. I would highly recommend if you are visiting San Francisco.

I really like this zoo. There were a lot more enclosures that were closed down and looking dilapidated. I hope the zoo can restore these into more usable spaces soon. We didn’t see the hippo, lions and some others, probably because it’s still not hot enough. (?)

The pandemic seemed to have taken its toll on this place. Hopefully with a renewed push to visit your local zoo, this place can rebound to the great zoo it once was.

Very nice zoo. All the animals look so happy. We caught 2 river otters wrestling with each other that was so cute. My daughter really liked all of the giraffes looking so cute as they took treats from their handlers. Giraffes are her favorite animal so she was very happy to see them getting treats. Good for all ages, plenty of space to get around. Just be aware the area the kangaroos are in closes before the rest of the zoo by 1 hour.

I visited this Zoo just after it was opened, at about 10:30 am. The good news is that the parking lot is available, and it is not crowded at all inside the Zoo.You can also ask employees any unique questions about the Zoo. There was no line to purchase a ticket, it was $25 for SF non- residents.
Inside the Zoo, it is a stress free environment. You feel you are not in a San Francisco busy city anymore. It is a good place to spend a few hours everyday in the area like this. The disappointing news is that it was very hard to see any animal in the morning. They were sleeping, hiding or sitting far away. Only a few animals i was able to spot. Perhaps, in the morning it is not the best time to see animals. However, when they feed them, it is probably the most exiting place to be. Even though i saw only a limited number of animals, i felt good to be there and enjoyed some of the exotic areas. The gift shop was very colorful, but unfortunately, it was not as impressive as San Diego's Zoo, CA or Anchorage's Zoo, AK. Also, i wish the store's items were made in the USA. And, this is exactly what foreign tourists are constantly looking for in the American stores. Recomend!!!
