Coach Joe is phenomenal! He is by far one of the most patient, chill, supportive, and motivating BJJ instructors I’ve worked with. He wants his students to be the best versions of themselves and will provide the tools needed on the mat. I also have to mention the affiliation and BJJ family itself, everyone in the Rooted family is welcoming and supportive in my personal BJJ journey. If you were ever thinking of starting or just need to transfer to a new gym, definitely need to work with coach Joe.

Professor Bacani is an amazing instructor. He is detail oriented, patient, and very knowledgeable in the art/science of Brazilian JiuJitsu.

You will learn all the self defense and sport concepts of BJJ, and you will definitely stay in shape with Professor Bacani.

Great place to train. The coach is knowledgeable and welcoming. People are friendly and watch out for each other Although this is not my home academy since I live in Richmond, I sometimes make the open mat and try to drop in for class. They are part of the Sabre network, which means that you can train in different affiliates.

One of the best decisions I’ve made was to start training JiuJitsu. The team at rooted is lead by Joe Bacani who has a wealth of knowledge, a love for the Art and is an awesome person to be around on and off the mats. Rooted BJJ is a great place to learn the "Gentle art" Joe Bacani is an amazing instructor who provides a great atmosphere to train at.
