Fun, innovative and energetic. If you're looking for a teacher that can making learning music fun and something to look forward to, Phil's it. Hesitant? Keep reading.

I hadn't touched a piano for 20+ years and was asked to play for our church for when the pianist was gone. I was classically trained from 1st to 6th grade. I had to relearn by myself but really wanted to refresh and learn some things I didn't know before and get retaught.

Our pastor at the time suggested Phil. Although we did zoom, and I know if it was in person it would have been a lot better, Phil made it work. He had top-notch experience with the technology since COVID made everyone go virtually. The lessons were phenomenal. My lessons were focused on gospel and church music but I learned things like octave-chord, relearning scales (I needed this desperately), playing by ear and my FAVORITE improvisation. I didn't think you can "learn" or "teach" improv but Phil did. He even stated that he wished he recorded our lesson.

Although our lessons were limited (just the summer every week), I still utilize everything he has taught me. I am regularly playing the piano now for our church for 3 services a week. It has been an incredible improvement and a lot of it is thanks to Phil.

Seek him out and he'll teach you more than you would ever expect. If he does this for adults-- I know for a FACT he can do this with kids.

This review is extremely way overdue. We found Mr. Phil here on Yelp and I'm so glad we did!

I got excited when my oldest son took interest in piano, but had no connections to a good piano teacher, so Yelp it was. Mr. Phil was super convenient because he was just right here in town. I had to wait (not very long) to get a lesson slot because he didn't have any openings at the time (because he is OBVIOUSLY JUST THAT AMAZING), but he contacted me as soon as a slot became available. He even had my son come down and try and see if it was something he really wanted to start learning. And our piano journey begins. I would consider my son a fast learner and to me, he plays beautifully - all thanks to Mr. Phil!

We are coming up on four years with Mr. Phil, which I actually think is today! He is such a hands on, incredibly talented and knowledgeable teacher. His love for piano shows with the way he teaches his students and I love that he makes it fun for them.

If you're looking for an incredible piano teacher, look no further because Mr. Phil is the one. Tell him Patti sent you!

Phil is such an amazing Piano Instructor. My kids knew nothing about playing piano. It was just less than a month when we had a lockdown, but he still managed to be an awesome teacher to my son. My son learned so much fr Phil and was able to make my son learn to play piano from scratch. He made virtual piano lesson possible, and he's even way greater in person. He's great with kids and have a special talent in making the kids learn so quickly to play piano. Definitely highly recommended.
