Los Trancos Open Space Preserve

The trails at Los Trancos Open Preserve are well-maintained and clearly marked, making it easy to navigate even for novice hikers. The terrain is varied, with sections of flat, easy walking and more challenging uphill climbs. The views from the Vista Loop Trail are truly breathtaking, and it's definitely worth the effort to reach the top.
Parking can be a bit limited. There are only a few small parking lots, so it's best to arrive early to ensure you can find a spot.

Great trail! You can choose easy or difficult courses. Not crowded and beautiful.

Los Trancos Trail loop is around a 7.5 mile moderate level hike. It is part of Foothills park which has a $6 parking fee. There is a big parking lot and the restrooms available at the trailhead.Trail is moderately trafficked, one way loop to maintain the social distance. Keep map handy to avoid getting off the trail mainly at the beginning of the trail. There is a bench at the top open area where you can enjoy the beautiful view and rest for some time. Most of the trail is narrow and shaded, many bridges. There are few sections where you need to be more careful as it’s difficult to cross. We took 3hrs to complete the hike. As it is Springtime, enjoy the flower bloom.

Nice little preserve with a couple of small loops. All loops are easy difficulty and mostly shaded by trees. The largest loop will take you about an hour. Connects to other preserves like Monte Bello, so you can do some longer hikes as well.
