Linda Bernardi

I started taking traditional piano lessons, when I was 50 years old. I enjoyed progressing through those for a couple of years, but when my local (in Alabama) teacher was unable to continue teaching, I turned to my friend, Linda, to inquire about virtual lessons.

I am thankful for the opportunity to take lessons from Linda. With my previous, traditional-style lessons, I felt like there was a filter through which I had to navigate to “get to” the piano. I felt quite disconnected with playing music on the piano.

With Linda and the Simply Music program, I no longer feel like I have to tiptoe up to the piano, timidly standing behind a curtain of sheet music, in order to try to play. I instead feel like I’m getting to know, almost developing a “relationship” with the piano, like the piano has invited me to come on in and take a seat, and see and feel and hear what it has to offer. With Linda teaching, and the method that she uses, it’s as though the piano shows me its possibilities and invites me on an adventure.

I highly recommend Linda as a piano teacher. I trust her expertise, gained through a lifetime of music study and experience. She carefully selects her curriculum, choosing the programs best suited to each of her students’ needs, interests, and capabilities. Linda loves to share her talent, developed from countless hours and decades of practice and study, to lead others on their own path of music study, enjoyment, and mastery.

My son Emmett is 9 and has been taking piano lessons with Linda for just over a year, initially privately and now as a two student group. Class is virtual, which I was hesitant about at first. But his learning has been amazing! Linda’s positive encouragement, constructive feedback and adherence to the Simply Music method have been outstanding. I have recommended her to all my friends considering starting their kids on lessons!

My children have been taking piano lessons with Linda for about two years and we all feel incredibly lucky to have found her. Her teaching method (Simply Music) makes learning piano fun and engaging. We've done lessons both in-person and virtually with Linda and she is equally engaging in both formats. We love that her teaching style introduces kids to solo and accompaniment styles as well as music composition and a variety of genres of music. My kids love to sing along to most of the songs they learn with her. Linda also takes advantage of online programs like Tonara and Piano Maestro. These tools help students track practice, connect with friends at the studio and perform for one another virtually. Linda is calm, patient and humorous and challenges the kids to become independent and figure things out on their own. We are so impressed by how much they have grown since starting lessons at her studio. Thank you, Linda!

My daughter has been taking piano lessons from Linda for a year and a half (virtually), and I am super impressed with how much she can already play. This program allows students to play fun songs right from the start, which has been very motivating for my child. Linda is very encouraging and super patient, which is greatly appreciated with a student that tends to be a perfectionist. I highly recommend Linda!

My daughter and I have been taking lessons with Linda for years now, and we love it! Along with the Simply Music program, Linda is always trying to take our musical interests into consideration so that we enjoy learning new pieces. This, of course, makes learning way more fun!
