Clean, efficient & friendly. Loved my experience with this facility. I would have liked a light in my unit but I did get light from hallway. Really loved the hand trucks & security. I’ll use again if necessary !!

I've used storage places for years and I think this is now the best storage place in the Bay Area thanks to new owner/management! I have a unit for business and one for my personal needs so I think I know the place pretty well. I have been a customer at this location for 6 years and thought it was okay but I have changed my opinion to excellent since the relatively recent purchase by SecureSpace Self Storage last July, about 6 months ago and changes were made. Wow! What a difference from the previous ownership! It's cleaner (very clean!), better managed, has a better supply store and more supplies such as storage boxes, packing tape, locks, etc. Also it feels safer because there are no odd people "hanging out" in the lobby for hours like they used to in under previous management/ownership. So I think the management has been firm but kind about some of Berkeley citizens who loiter in business and public spaces. All the improvements are great but the safety factor of making sure the place is for customers and not those needing a place to hang out makes it all that much more appealing. Under previous ownership, I would sometimes avoid coming in if I saw one of the "regulars" taking up space. This problem seems to have been eradicated.

Best of all the welcome changes is Axel, who is the manager. Axel is a most excellent customer service whiz. He is friendly, efficient, quick, mindful, respectful and handles any issues one may have with panache, charm and grace. He is a customer service gold mine! It's nice to be greeted cheerfully and to feel welcome when I enter the building. Great service, convenient Berkeley location on a main thoroughfare and Axel, a friendly businessman that keeps the place rollin' along!

"Axel has been super approachable and supportive with helping me find the right storage size/place etc... and has always been helpful and accommodating when I've had questions/concerns. I hope he gets a promotion because the company sure is lucky to have him!! Excellent customer service!!! I even watched him handle a really difficult call so professionally with so much care and patience. Axel is truly phenomenal! I feel so fortunate and safe knowing he's there. The space feels spacious and clean, and they seem to have several security measures put in place to provide a sense of safety. Thanks y'all, much appreciated!"
