IrisVision

I was diagnosed with choroideremia (CHM). 20+ years ago I became legally blind. CHM causes extreme tunnel vision. I decided to give IrisVision a try. I currently only have about 1-2 degrees of vision in each eye. With that vision I can only see one eye of a person I am speaking to at arms' length. With the IrisVision, I can see the entire face and a bit more. What a difference! I can see facial expressions. It may not seem like much, but so much communication occurs with expressions. On the negative side, people I am talking to cannot see my expression completely because of the IrisVision. I had also given up watching much TV, but with IrisVision, I can actually see what is happening on screen. The first thing I did after figring out the controls was to walk around my house. No, IrisVision is not meant for walking around because it throws your depth perception way off and it may move or bounce. But I walked very slowly , and I am used to walking without peripheral vision. We had bought a house a few months earlier, so I was excited by seeing the entire layout of each room using RP mode and adjusting the Field of View. Another negative is the limited battery life. Would be nice if it had a swappable battery. I also take the IrisVision with me to public gatherings. It does make it easier to see the crowd, but not to move around. I had hoped IrisVision might help with my ability to work. So far, I have not found an application for it, mainly because I have a computer set-up that I already am used to for my work. But I will keep trying to find more uses. IrisVision does help me read mail, especially when printed on colored paper. Overall, I love using the IrisVision and look forward to discovering more tings I can do with it.

Absolute game changer! I am legally blind, and have been my entire life (now 59). I love reading, but have always been limited by the font size in books. NO MORE! IrisVision has opened new doors for me. I am using it to read music, watch movies, and see so much in greater detail than I ever have before!
Yes, they are expensive, and that's why IrisVision lets you try them out before finally committing. They also have coaches who assist you in figuring out all the details. Myrna was my coach, and she's an absolute angel! For me, this is truly a worthwhile investment in a quantum leap in quality of life. I have to also give a shout out to Sam from THE BLIND LIFE. I am 87 years old and technically challenged. I've had my new updated version of IrisVision for a few months now, and absolutely love it. While most of the credit goes to Myrna, my IrisVision coach and personal trainer,I also fimd the manual to be extremely helpful and easy to follow.What's more, when I simply ask for "help", the device can solve most problems. Now I have the best viewing ever without any frustration. Thank you!

I love IRIS vision inspire. It’s changed my life. I can see friends and families faces and read the text. I couldn’t do that before this device.

I've had my Inspire for about a month now and am very pleased with its function. I recently took it to a meeting to see if it would help seeing the presenter and observing some exhibit items too. It performed better than expected, making the presenter visible and the exhibits informational. I also had a reason to contact Tech Support and am happy to say that it was the very best Tech Support call I have ever had. First off, I had called in during off hours but didn't leave a message, intending to call back during their posted hours. They called me, noting that I had called in but didn't leave a message. Secondly, they were very knowledgeable and solved my problem by accessing my device, reviewing the settings and even resetting it back to its factory status. The problem was quickly identified and resolved in a matter of minutes.
