Francis Beach Campground

Great campground. We stayed in a tent, but this seems like a popular place for people with RV's. It was still nice though and it didn't feel like we were too close to other lots. We were in lot 6 which didn't seem like a great location on the map, but it was better in person. The beach area was great, & a nice walking path was also available. One of the bathroom buildings didn't have lights, and that was kind of spooky. Staff was friendly. Bundles of wood were $15. The campground is close to a grocery store in case you forget something.

Started our New Year on the beach with a great reset for the soul from the rain, the ocean, sitting by the fire and enjoying our alone time. The views were phenomenal. We were blessed to see the sunset and the sunrise. My only quam was that the showers and the restrooms were locked. Seems someone pushed through one of the restrooms, breaking the lock, leaving one available restroom. But other than that, the beach was a few steps away from our site. We enjoyed every min of our New Years weekend 😀

it is essentially a parking lot to put your tent or park your vehicle. You are surrounded by beauty! access to the ocean in front of you and behind the campground is a path that goes past surfers Beach. dogs are welcome in the campground and on the path as long as they are leashed. if you are not camping or even if you are, they are a picnic tables and stationary grills over on the state park side. campsite has two structures for bathrooms and showers, both are well maintained and clean. any questions just ask the ranger.

Drive-in tent sites have an impregnable view of the ocean. It can get quite windy and cold. Winds tend to ease a bit in the late afternoon. Depending on your tent, setting-up at midday, in windy conditions, might pretty challenging. Bathrooms and showers are clean. Showers require quarters and a minimum of 50 cents for 2 minutes.

Awesome campground right by the beach in beautiful Half Moon Bay. Enjoy the sound of the ocean waves all night long. Sites are spacious, level and have picnic tables. Electric hook up is available but no water or sewer. They have a dump station for $10. Bathrooms have toilets on one side, coin operated showers on the opposite side of the buildings. One of THE Best campground to enjoy the sunsets by far. Of course, with that, comes being exposed to the wind. So be prepared.
