Ardenwood Historic Farm

Its more than one thousand times we have visited this place and yet we keep going back. The best farm experience once can ever have. We love the train season and wish it was all year around. Do check out the blacksmith shop the guy out there is super friendly and loved the way he took us through his work.

Good Place for nature walk, Kids will have more fun. Train ride, farm animals, small cafe that opens on Saturday and sunday. Meet black smith who is really great, talks to kids explains them with patience.

Kids love petting goats and sleeps.
Also workers walk around and give kids the food for animals so they can feed them.
Pretty quiet and not crowded place but super fun.

This was my first time visiting and it was just wonderful. Looking for a place to picnic with plenty of history and agricultural lessons for the kids, this is the place. I believe entry fee is $4 per adult and $3 per child but very worth it and the funds help keep this park as beautiful as it is. There are cows, sheep, pigs, goats and chickens as well as free roaming peacocks. Plenty of space on grass for lunch or tables if you prefer. Patterson House is a beautiful location for weddings. Plenty of shade to shield you from the summer sun and it's a quiet spot to enjoy. I went here alone to simply explore and shoot pictures and it didn't disappoint. There's also a train but as I was here on a Saturday it wasn't running. Be sure to check ahead if that is something you're interested in. There is a cute Cafe with snacks, drinks and lunch items as well.

Fun place to take kids and enjoy a picnic. Expect to walk 0.5 to 1 mile or more if you want to see all the animals. There are several bathrooms and water fountains throughout. Also it's very inexpensive.
